Our Editorial Standards

At Fincul, we hold ourselves to the highest editorial standards. As a publication operating at the intersection of finance and culture, two fields where trust and accuracy are paramount, we believe our readers deserve nothing less than rigorously researched, thoughtfully written, and transparently presented content.

Independence

Fincul maintains full editorial independence. Our editorial decisions are never influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners. When we review a financial product or recommend an art investment platform, our assessment reflects genuine editorial judgment, not commercial interest.

We have no financial stakes in the companies, artists, or platforms we cover, unless explicitly disclosed.

Research & Sources

Every article published on Fincul is grounded in verifiable information:

  • Primary sources are prioritised: auction house records (Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Bonhams), official financial reports, regulatory filings, and direct statements from artists, galleries, or institutions.
  • Data references include established industry sources such as the Art Basel & UBS Global Art Market Report, Artprice indices, Artnet Analytics, and official central bank publications.
  • Expert perspectives are sought where appropriate. When we cite an opinion, we identify the source and their relevant credentials.
  • Claims are verified by at least two independent sources before publication, particularly for financial data, market statistics, and investment-related assertions.

Accuracy & Corrections

We strive for accuracy in every piece we publish. When errors occur, we correct them promptly and transparently:

  • Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with the date of correction.
  • Substantive changes to published content are marked with an “Updated” notice, specifying what was changed and why.
  • Readers who identify errors are encouraged to contact us at editor@fincul.com.

Content Categories

Fincul publishes several types of content, each held to specific standards:

Editorial Articles — Original reporting and analysis by our editorial team. These represent Fincul’s core journalism and undergo full editorial review before publication.

Artist Profiles & Cultural Features — In-depth explorations of artists, cultural institutions, and creative movements, always examined through both a cultural and financial lens.

Investment Guides — Educational content designed to inform, not advise. All investment-related content includes appropriate risk disclaimers. We do not provide personalised financial advice.

Sponsored Content — Clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Partner Content” at the top of the article. Sponsored pieces are reviewed by our editorial team for factual accuracy, but the views expressed may reflect those of the sponsor.

Press Releases — Published in our press section and clearly identified. These represent the views of the issuing organisation, not Fincul’s editorial position.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some articles contain affiliate links to financial products, art platforms, educational courses, or other services. These are marked with an asterisk (*) or a disclosure note. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial recommendations or ratings. We only recommend products and services we believe genuinely serve our readers’ interests.

Use of AI Tools

Fincul utilises AI-powered tools to assist with research and initial content drafting. However, every piece of content published on Fincul undergoes thorough human review, editing, and fact-checking before publication. Our editorial team ensures that all content meets our standards for accuracy, originality, and editorial voice.

AI is a tool in our process, not a replacement for human judgment, expertise, or editorial responsibility.

Our Team

Our editorial team brings together expertise in financial markets, art history, cultural journalism, and digital media. Each writer and editor is selected for their subject-matter knowledge and commitment to quality journalism. Learn more about our team on our About page.
